Bali Travel Photos - Canguu | Uluwatu | Ubud
I was excited to get the call that we were filming two upcoming music videos in Bali! I’ve wanted to visit Bali for so long, and it did not disappoint! Even though we had a lot of work while we were there, I kept my cameras with me to explore the island, and here are a few of my favorite images from Bali and the unexpected two-day layover in Doha, Qatar, when our flight was overbooked!
Bali was a beautiful experience and truly a special place, but full of contradictions. And I found the traffic and overtourism a sad reality that made me sympathize with the local community and the challenges tourists were bringing to their lives. But the smiles and the laughter!! The people were the most amazing thing about it, and as much as I wanted to shoot portraits and capture that part of Balinese life, I realized that another white-guy’s lens was the least creative option, and this time, I was going to save the portraits for my memory and just enjoy the moment.
The photos I decided to take were not polished portraits or landscapes, but feelings or moments, trying to capture the joy of the Balinese smiles, the sound of the wind in the palms, the smell of the rice fields, and the sensation of the sun on my face. Bali was an exercise in creative feeling, one that was much needed. I hope you enjoy these and you discover a few that make you feel something special.
