Bali Travel Photos - Canguu | Uluwatu | Ubud

I was excited to get the call that we were filming two upcoming music videos in Bali! I’ve wanted to visit Bali for so long, and it did not disappoint! Even though we had a lot of work while we were there, I kept my cameras with me to explore the island, and here are a few of my favorite images from Bali and the unexpected two-day layover in Doha, Qatar, when our flight was overbooked!

Bali was a beautiful experience and truly a special place, but full of contradictions. And I found the traffic and signs of overtourism a sad reality that made it hard for me not to sympathize with the local community and the challenges tourists were bringing to their lives. But the smiles and the laughter!! The people were the most amazing thing about it, and as much as I wanted to shoot portraits and capture that part of Balinese life, I realized that another white-guy’s lens was the least useful thing for them, and this time, I was going to save the portraits for my memory and just enjoy the moment.

In this case the photos I took were feelings or moments, not polished portraits or landscapes. Bali was an exercise in creative feeling, one that was much needed. I hope you enjoy these and that a few make you feel something special.
