Image Library and Portraits For A Consulting Company’s New Website & Social Launch
For this shoot, the team was only together for a day, with team members arriving in the morning and leaving later in the evening, so preparation and efficiency we key factors. We worked with their London-based agency to scout locations in advance, providing photoshoot location options and site visits to confirm the locations would be suitable for the photos needed. We discussed the look and feel of the images, and I designed lighting plans to capture the professional but natural feel to the photos that they wanted across multiple locations and spaces without having to rely only on the natural lighting..

Portrait Experiments In Silhouette
That obsession was how powerful a silhouette can be in a photo. I was enamored with the idea that it could be aesthetically, beautiful, but also very personal. It struck me that you could identify these individuals quickly with nothing but their silhouette if you knew them, and it really sparked the idea of storytelling within portraiture, and playing with absence, and of course, shadow, because if you know me, you know, I love a good dark shadow.

My amazing shoot in my Madrid photo studio with a talented Adult Ballet dancer and teacher, Natalie. I have never been a ballet fan, but now I am a convert. It is fantastically beautiful and moving. The movement, the shapes, the precision...I'm in awe.

The public relations team for Mars Petcare reached out to me to set up a photo shoot for corporate portraits for their leadership team during their annual global retreat in Madrid.
Several members were being asked for updated headshots and portraits for various interviews and speaking opportunities both externally and internally, so we created 2 portrait looks and a headshot look for each of their 9 leadership team members at their hotel.
Experimental Portraits - Agustín
My session with Agustín is another example of having very cool model friends who are willing to be creative together in a photo session. Many of these photos were shot in the aftermath of the COVID restrictions here in Madrid, and the mood of post-quarantine, and all of the emotional effects of that time in our lives, subconsciously came through in our imagery together.

Like many good photos, some of these photos came about due to limitations or problems during the photo session, which ended up leading me into very fertile creative territory.

Lou is an educator and advocate for sustainable fashion and sustainable practices for clothing manufacturers, an advisor for a new Spanish Fashion House, Elio Berhanyer, and a gifted yoga instructor based in Madrid.
